Biller/Pre-Certification Clerk
Position Details
Status: Full-time, hourly
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Position Purpose:
Process clinic patient insurance forms and performs related clerical duties. Verifies insurance coverage and completes or initiates original billing.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Prior experience in healthcare billing (Rural Health Clinic billing preferred)
Proficiencies: Keyboarding and use of EHR (Electronic Health Record)
Knowledge: Rural Health Billing Regulatory Requirements and Reimbursement Requirements. Good understanding of third-party payer explanation of benefits.
Skills and Abilities: Verbal communication, Customer Service, Accuracy, Attention to Detail. Works well with others. Willingness to be a team player in the department.
Duties may include (but not limited to): IDPA billing; Worker’s compensation billing, pre-certification and scheduling of specialty appointments; Release of medical records; Completion of medical forms. Other duties as assigned.
