Cancer Care & Infusion Clinic at Pinckneyville Community Hospital is an outpatient clinic that provides comprehensive medical care to people with cancer and blood disorders. Patients needing infusions and injections for non-cancer-related conditions are also treated in the Cancer Care & Infusion Clinic.

We strive to give patients the confidence they need to manage their disease and treatment options, through personal attention and compassionate care in order to continue to enjoy their quality of life.

Cardiology
Available Through Our Speciality Clinic

A cardiologist is a doctor with special training and skill in finding, treating and preventing diseases of the heart and blood vessels. From high cholesterol to high blood pressure, aneurysms to arrhythmia, chest pain to cardiac care, these experts are prepared to stand by your side throughout your journey towards a healthy heart.

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is a condition in which the heart muscle is weakened. The heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body's needs.

The Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Clinic at Pinckneyville Community Hospital is an education and treatment program designed to help patients control their disease. Heart failure management is a team effort making you and your provider the key players on the team. Our staff will work closely with your provider to keep them fully apprised of your progress.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) encompasses a group of lung diseases, most commonly emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Emphysema damages the air sacs and causes the lungs to be hyperinflated, while chronic bronchitis causes plugging and narrowing of the airways.

The COPD Clinic is an education and treatment program designed to help patients control their disease. Lung disease management is a team effort making you and your provider the key players on the team. Our staff will work closely with your provider to keep them fully apprised of your progress.

The Emergency Department at Pinckneyville Community Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by physicians contracted through EmCare. The highly trained, registered nurses who work in the Emergency Department receive additional courses in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nurse Training.  The ancillary support services at Pinckneyville Community Hospital are ready to act in emergency. Technicians in both our Laboratory and Imaging Department's are staffed around the clock in the case of emergencies.

Eye Surgery

Ophthamologists diagnose and treat eye diseases, including vision loss, detached retinas, cataracts and glaucoma. They perform laser retina surgery, refractive surgery and lens replacement operations.

General Surgery

Dr. David Cox, Board Certified General Surgeon, has extensive experience in all general surgery cases. His services include appendectomy, colonoscopy, gall bladder, mediport, endoscopy, wound care, hernia repair, lymph node biopsy and more.

The Healthy Bone Clinic provides the most comprehensive orthopaedic bone health care including osteoporosis screening, diagnosis, treatment and education.

A Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist is a Family Nurse Practitioner, whose practice is dedicated exclusively to providing care to patients while they are in the hospital. This means that the hospitalist can focus all of his or her attention on the patients who are hospitalized and be more readily available to these patients than a doctor who spends much of their time in an office setting.

Our Imaging Department is a full-service imaging center. With our equipment and trained staff, we are capable of doing almost all imaging needs. We offer General Radiology, Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, Bone Densitometry (DEXA), Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasounds, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and PET CT.

We're here for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Scheduled exams are available Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m

Internal Medicine

Interventional pain management services offered by the Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois connects patients with comprehensive, tailored pain management care. The Family Medical Center offers comprehensive medical care for all ages. Dr. Andrew Forbes, a Board Certified Pediatrician, is trained to diagnose and treat illnesses in infants, children, adolescents and young adults. Dr. Forbes provides medical care from well child visits to ear infections and even minor injuries. As children grow, a pediatrician ensures that they are achieving important milestones in growth, behavior and skills.

Podiatry

Podiatrists specialize in medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle. Some common conditions we treat are bunions, heel pain/plantar fasciitis, hammertoes, toenail fungus, achilles tendonitis, ankle injuries, neuropathy and ingrown nails. We also specialize in foot care for diabetics and custom foot orthotics.

Pulmonology

Pulmonary Medicine deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. It can involve acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS), asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, lung disease or cancer, lung transplants, and many other conditions.

The Respiratory Therapy Department at Pinckneyville Community Hospital provides treatment and care to individuals that suffer with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders.  This includes conditions such as Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, Bronchitis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Cough, Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Emphysema, Interstitial Lung Disease, Lung Cancer, Pleural Effusion, Pneumonia, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Pulmonary Hypertension, Reactive Airway Disease, Respiratory Failure, Restrictive Lung Disease, Sarcoidosis and Shortness of Breath.

Pinckneyville Community Hospital partners with Clayton Sleep Institute (CSI) to provide expert, complete medical care for all sleep disorders and sleep health. Clayton Sleep Institute has the experience and the expertise to address your sleep health issues with the utmost care. A sleep study at Pinckneyville Community Hospital may be performed to diagnose and treat all sleep disorders. In addition to in-clinic testing, CSI is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine to perform Home Sleep Tests to screen for obstructive sleep apnea.

With access to your electronic health record, our team of specialists delivers safe, high-quality care you've come to expect.

Physical, Occupational, and Speech

Whether you need occupational, physical, or speech therapy services, Pinckneyville Community Hospital can meet your needs. We provide top-notch, one on one, outpatient therapy services at the Wellness Center, located on the Hospital’s campus.  The Wellness Center offers a full array of therapy and fitness equipment along with a heated pool to maximize your progress.  Our variety of services include aquatic therapy, manual therapy, modalities, traction, hand therapy, pediatric therapy, work rehab, and FCE, speech, language, and cognition therapy.  With our friendly, highly qualified staff and our fantastic facilities, we are able to help each patient achieve their full functional potential.  

The Transitional Care Program at Pinckneyville Community Hospital is a program that allows patients to transition from acute medical care to home. This means when the patient’s condition no longer requires hospitalization, but he or she still needs rehabilitation or skilled nursing, the patient can stay at Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
Transitional Care allows patients return to Pinckneyville more quickly, while still receiving the appropriate level of care until they return to their home.
