Freedom Of Information Act

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requires public bodies to operate openly and provide public records, upon request, as expediently and efficiently as possible. As a district hospital, Pinckneyville Community Hospital must comply with the (FOIA).

 

How may the public request information and public records?

Requests for public information shall be submitted to the following individuals serving as the Hospital's Freedom of Information (FOI) Officers:

Requests for public information shall be submitted in writing via hand delivery or the following options:

Fees associated with record requests under the FOIA:
The cost of the first 50 black & white pages is provided free of charge. Copies in excess of 50 pages will be charged at $0.15 per copy. The charge for in-house color copies shall be $0.25 per copy. The charge for outside color copies shall be the cost charged by the printer. Information supplied on electronic media shall be charged at $1.00 for each CD/diskette or the actual cost of the specific media type. The cost for certifying record copies shall be $1.00.

Requests for information shall be reviewed and responses made within 5 to 10 working days. If the information requested is exempt under the FOIA, a notice of denial shall be provided.
