Telehealth

About Telehealth

Pinckneyville Community Hospital, in partnership with SIU HealthCare, supplements traditional face-to-face visits with the convenience of accessing specialty care virtually, so you can stay close to home.

Our system uses advanced technology for you to interact with an SIU specialist through high-definition audio and videoconferencing.

Pinckneyville Community Hospital has partnered with SIU to provide a trained, on-site clinical team to help you during a telehealth visit which ensures diagnostic and treatment accuracy. With access to your electronic health record, our team of specialists delivers safe, high-quality care you've come to expect.

What You Can Expect

A telehealth visit is conducted just like an in-person office visit. Once you've checked in for your appointment, a trained nurse will escort you to the dedicated telehealth-enabled space at Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Your trained clinical nurse will prepare you for the appointment, take your vital signs, and then link you virtually with your SIU specialist. The nurse will accompany you throughout the entire visit to ensure your comfort and to assist the specialist.

The nurse is accustomed to handling various on-site services, should you need other diagnostic and/or treatment services.

Specialty Services Offered

We are dedicated to delivering high-quality medical care, close to home, so you don't have to travel. Our team of providers will deliver care via telehealth for:

  • Consultations

Insurance coverage for telehealth services can vary. Your insurance will be contacted to verify that telehealth services are covered within your plan.

If your insurance requires a co-payment, you will be billed accordingly. If you are unsure about your coverage, please contact your insurance provider directly, or the Hospital Business Office Manager at 618-357-5924.
