Pinckneyville Community Hospital Compliance Hotline
The Pinckneyville Community Hospital (PCH) Compliance Program ensures that Hospital operations are conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, PCH’s policies and procedures and in accordance with PCH’s mission, vision and values.
The Compliance Hotline is available to employees as well as contractors, vendors, patients and their families. Most patient complaints are handled by Blake Thornton, Director of Quality and Risk Management who can be reached at (618) 357-5976. Employees are encouraged to utilize the reporting Chain of Command by contacting their supervisor or department head. They may also contact PCH’s Chief Operating Officer/Compliance and HIPAA Privacy Officer, Brad Futrell, at (618) 357-5908. PCH’s employees have a duty to report any actual or suspected act of fraud, waste or abuse, or any other illegal or unethical conduct. The Compliance Hotline is a reporting mechanism that enables reporting of possible violations when the regular channels of communication have proven ineffective or are impractical under the circumstances.
If an employee, patient, family member, visitor or contractor is unsure about where to go with a concern, or feels uncomfortable reporting through normal channels of communication, or wishes to raise the issue anonymously, the employee can access the Compliance Hotline.
The Compliance Hotline is run by NAVEX Global, an independent third-party provider, and is available online or by telephone. Whether reporting via the Web or by telephone the Hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Pinckneyville Community Hospital Compliance Hotline is designed to protect confidentiality and anonymity, if requested. Regardless of how a report is made, PCH prohibits retaliation in any form against anyone who, in good faith, reports a potential violation or who cooperates with an investigation, even if sufficient evidence is not found to substantiate the concern. PCH will take necessary action against any individual determined to be engaging in retaliatory conduct.
