A sleep study at Pinckneyville Community Hospital may be performed to diagnose and treat all sleep disorders. In addition to in-clinic testing, CSI is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine to perform Home Sleep Tests to screen for obstructive sleep apnea. The sleep studies at Pinckneyville Community Hospital will be conducted by Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, while results will be interpreted by board-certified sleep physicians.

The Sleep Lab rooms at Pinckneyville Community Hospital are outfitted for comfort - more like a hotel room than a hospital room. Each room features beds with pillow-top mattresses, private bathrooms, and televisions. Throughout the night, trained and registered professionals monitor and record brain waves, breathing, muscle activity, heart rhythms, and blood oxygen levels.
- Patients who take part in a sleep study will learn important information about how much they sleep at night and the quality of their breathing during sleep.

Sleep Apnea is a disorder in which your breathing repeatedly stops and starts during your sleep. These disorders are often associated with underlying cardiac or neurologic issues that require a more extensive clinical evaluation and in-clinic testing.
