Fitness Aide
Position Details
Status: PRN – As Needed; Hourly
Shift: The Wellness Center - Fitness Center is staffed during the below time frames: Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 9:00 pm and Saturday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Position Purpose: Serve as a role model for fit and healthy lifestyles while displaying a professional manner and appearance. Instruct and assist clients in exercise activities. Demonstrate techniques and form, observe clients, and explain to them corrective measures necessary to improve their skills and reach goals. Conduct fitness or wellness classes (such as yoga, aerobics, weightlifting, pool, etc. – ensuring a diversity of class offerings). Processing of membership paperwork and dues.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have knowledge of exercise equipment and ability to instruct exercise classes.
- Must enjoy exercising and have a desire to motivate others to live a healthy lifestyle.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
Essential Functions include:
- Attends scheduled in-services, maintains current CPR certification, and actively pursues continual professional advancement through education, seminars, professional journals, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of information concerning clients.
- Contributes to the department by sharing clinical knowledge and skills.
