Housekeeper
Position Details
Shift: The EVS Department operates on Day, Evening and Weekend shifts. Applicants must be able to work weekends, and holidays on rotation.
Status: Full-time - PDIEM - 1st or 2nd Shift
Position Purpose: Responsible for the appearance, cleaning and disinfecting of hospital and ancillary buildings. General housekeeping duties and /or laundry and linen duties as assigned by department manager. Duties can include (but not limited to): making beds, changing linens, cleaning floors, vacuuming carpets, restocking medical supplies, using disinfectants, and applying infection-control policies.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Requirements: Prior experience in a healthcare setting in preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Excellent verbal and critical thinking skills.
•Excellent attendance record.
•High level of concentration, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work both independently and on a team.
•Ability to use proper body mechanics when lifting, pushing or pulling.
•Ability to adhere to hospital’s values and standards of behavior (REACH – respect, excellence, accountability, compassion, and helping support others).
