Laboratory Technologist - MT
Position Details
Status: Full-Time
Shift: Days & Evenings - 2 Positions
The Laboratory department operates on day, evening, night and weekend shifts. Applicants should expect to occasionally pick up shifts outside of night shift hours. Pinckneyville Community Hospital is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Requirements: A bachelor's degree in medical technology, its equivalent or its foreign equivalent, plus two years' experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Technician, or Clinic Laboratory Technologist, and must be registered or certified as a MLS (ASCP), MLS (ASCPi), MLS (ASCPi)cm, AMT, RMT or MT.
Position Purpose/Responsibilities:
- Perform all laboratory procedures in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, participate in the proper collection of blood specimens, the proper handling of specimens and the final distribution of specimens to the specific testing area, perform analysis, which requires a complex network of steps and variables, use and monitor quality control procedures within predetermined parameters, confirm and verify results by having in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments, correlate and interpret laboratory data based on knowledge or physiological conditions affecting test results.

Wage Rate Range: $27.75/HR - $45.09/HR, based on experience and specific position.
