Pinckneyville Community Hospital Hosts Safe Sitter® Training for Local Teens
Pinckneyville Community Hospital recently hosted a Safe Sitter® training course, equipping 19 local teens with essential skills to keep themselves and the children they care for safe.
The class covered a wide range of topics, including CPR, choking rescue, emergency response, injury management, and more. Safe Sitter® is a nationally recognized program designed to prepare students in grades 6–8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.
Each participant successfully completed the course and earned certification as a Certified Safe Sitter® graduate.
“We’re proud to have added 19 more educated teens out in our community,” said Kelsey Priebe, RN, Class Instructor. “They left feeling confident and more prepared to safely watch younger children and handle emergencies.”
Pinckneyville Community Hospital remains committed to providing valuable programs like Safe Sitter® that support youth development and community safety.
