What Are HCAHPS Surveys?

HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) surveys are a national, standardized tool used to measure patients' perspectives on their hospital experiences. Administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), these surveys evaluate key areas such as communication with hospital staff, cleanliness, responsiveness, and overall satisfaction. The results not only highlight the hospital's strengths but also identify opportunities for growth, serving as a critical benchmark for patient-centered care.
