Pinckneyville Community Hospital CEO Randall Dauby Honored with Inspiring CEO/President Summit Award
Pinckneyville, IL – Randall Dauby, CEO of Pinckneyville Community Hospital, has been awarded the prestigious Inspiring CEO/President Summit Award, presented by Custom Learning Systems during the 2024 HealthCare Service Excellence Conference. The award, given at the Night of Excellence on November 6, 2024, recognizes Dauby’s exceptional leadership and dedication to improving patient care and staff engagement.
In 2024, the Summit Awards committee reviewed 311 nominations from 30 healthcare organizations across 14 states. Of those, 115 nominees were named Pinnacle Achievers, with just 31 earning the esteemed Summit Award—the highest honor presented at the conference. Randall Dauby was the sole recipient of the Inspiring CEO/President Summit Award.
With nearly four decades in healthcare, and nine years at Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Dauby exemplifies servant leadership. He introduced CEO Chats, a monthly forum promoting transparency by sharing financial updates, event plans, and hospital news while giving employees a voice. Known for his hands-on approach, Dauby leads by example—picking up trash, assisting patients, and personally escorting visitors through the hospital. He also frequently visits new hospital inpatients and swing-bed patients, often seen getting them warm blankets or refilling their drinks; these small but mighty acts reinforce his commitment to personalized care.
Dauby’s influence extends beyond the hospital. He has served in leadership roles with the Illinois Critical Access Network (ICAHN), Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA), Illinois Provider Trust (IPT), and the Rend Lake College Foundation Board. He also played a pivotal role in forming the hospital auxiliary, which operates a shuttle service, gift shop, and welcome desk for patients and guests.
“I have personally served as Mr. Dauby's Executive Assistant for the past 9 years and have seen this hospital evolve into the amazing institution it is today under his leadership,” said Rhonda Szostak, Dauby’s Executive Assistant. “He inspires me and others to be better employees, leaders, and people in general. We are extremely blessed to have him as we continue to grow—not only with expansion projects but with the strides being made in our culture.”
Dauby’s leadership philosophy—that no job is beneath anyone—has created a culture of collaboration, respect, and excellence at Pinckneyville Community Hospital. “We are all housekeepers and caregivers,” Dauby often says, a principle he lives every day.
The hospital proudly celebrates Randall Dauby’s remarkable achievement and ongoing impact on healthcare and the Pinckneyville community.
