Chelsey Jackson Honored with Summit Award for Service Excellence Advisor (SEA) - 1st Year

January 03, 2025

Chelsey Jackson, a dedicated member of the Materials Management Department at Pinckneyville Community Hospital (PCH), has been awarded the prestigious Summit Award for Service Excellence Advisor (SEA) – 1st Year at the 2024 National HealthCare Service Excellence Conference. The award, presented during the Night of Excellence on November 6, 2024, recognizes her exceptional contributions to enhancing patient experiences, staff engagement, and organizational excellence.

This year, the Summit Awards committee reviewed 311 nominations from 30 healthcare organizations across 14 states. Of these, 115 were selected as Pinnacle Achievers, with only 31 individuals, including Jackson, earning the esteemed Summit Award—the highest honor presented at the conference.

Jackson was nominated for her outstanding dedication and leadership as a first-year Service Excellence Advisor (SEA). She frequently went above and beyond her duties, providing encouragement and support to coworkers as they prepared to teach two-hour workshops to hospital staff. Additionally, Jackson initiated team-building activities across hospital departments, encouraging collaboration and boosting morale. Her efforts even extended to presenting the SEAs' accomplishments to the Hospital Board of Directors.

In her role within the Materials Management Department, Jackson is known as a problem-solver and innovator. For example, she researched IV start kits and found a more cost-effective option with an overall better product selection for nursing staff. This switch amounted to over $11,000 hospital savings per year.

Jenna Howerton, Materials Department Manager, praised Jackson’s contributions, stating, “When Chelsey walks through the doors of PCH, she is there to lend a hand to any visitor or peer needing assistance. She is a role model for someone who wonders what it’s like to work at a five-star hospital. She is a five-star employee!”

PCH is proud to celebrate Chelsey Jackson’s well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her commitment to excellence.
