Pinckneyville Community Hospital Expands Care with New Urology Services

Pinckneyville Community Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Urology Services at the Family Medical Center, expanding access to specialized care for patients close to home.

The Family Medical Center will offer comprehensive, specialized care for patients with urological conditions, collaborating with the Urologists at VirtuCare, to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of urologic health needs for patients of all ages. The PCH Urology program offers care for conditions such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, prostate problems, bladder control issues, male fertility concerns, and other prostate, bladder, and kidney health conditions. These services allow patients to receive advanced urologic care close to home, improving access and convenience for the community.

 “Urology care plays an important role in overall health, yet many patients must travel out of town for these services,” said Randall Dauby, Chief Executive Officer. “By bringing urology to the Family Medical Center, we’re making it easier for our community to receive the care they need without the added stress of long commutes.”

The new Urology program at PCH is more than just a clinic—it includes in-office procedures and surgical services performed right here in Pinckneyville by Uwais Zaid, M.D., an experienced urologist. Available procedures include cystoscopies, vasectomies, and other advanced urologic surgeries, providing patients with comprehensive care from diagnosis through treatment and recovery, all in one convenient location.

Another major advantage for local patients is timely access to appointments. While it can take months to see a urologist elsewhere, PCH offers significantly shorter wait times, allowing patients to receive evaluation and treatment much sooner.  The benefits of timely urology care include early detection of health issues, more personalized treatment plans, and an overall improved quality of life.
