Pinckneyville Community Hospital continues to serve as a vital pillar of both healthcare and economic stability in Perry County and the surrounding region, according to the 2026 Economic Impact Report prepared with assistance from the Illinois Health and Hospital Association. The report demonstrates that the hospital contributes nearly $97.6 million in total economic impact, underscoring its essential role in supporting jobs, local businesses, and the overall economic vitality of the community.

“Pinckneyville Community Hospital is more than a healthcare provider—we are an economic anchor for this region,” said Randall W. Dauby, CEO. “The hospital’s presence supports local families, strengthens local businesses, and contributes to long-term community stability.”

The Economic Impact Report shows that the hospital’s operations support a total of 626 jobs throughout the region. This includes 242 direct hospital positions, as well as 384 additional indirect and induced jobs generated through supplier partnerships and the everyday spending of hospital employees. These employment opportunities help keep skilled workers in the community while providing stable incomes that support households and neighboring economies.

Beyond employment, the hospital generates significant economic activity through its operational spending and business relationships. The report outlines $55.6 million in direct economic activity associated with the hospital, along with $36.5 million in indirect activity resulting from purchases made through vendors and service providers. An additional $5.4 million in induced spending is generated as hospital employees and their families spend their earnings locally. Together, this circulation of dollars supports retailers, restaurants, professional services, contractors, and other small businesses across the region.

Healthcare remains one of the most resilient sectors of the economy, and Pinckneyville Community Hospital provides a stabilizing presence during periods of economic uncertainty. Access to high-quality healthcare close to home strengthens the community’s ability to attract residents, employers, and future investment while improving overall quality of life. A healthier population is also a more productive and engaged population, reinforcing long-term economic sustainability.

Pinckneyville Community Hospital remains committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care while serving as a cornerstone of economic and social well-being for the community it serves. Through job creation, local investment, and accessible healthcare services, the hospital continues to play a central role in the strength, resilience, and future growth of the region.
